Borderlands Economic Forum – Chairmanship

Borderlands Economic Forum – Chairmanship

by Jack Stopforth

At the request of the partners, TSCS founder Jack Stopforth agreed to extend his membership of the Partnership Board and chairmanship of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal’s Economic Forum for a further twelve months.

The Borderlands initiative covers the five major councils on either side of the Anglo-Scottish border – namely Northumberland and Cumbria County Councils, Carlisle City Council, Scottish Borders Council and Dumfries and Galloway. The Economic Forum is a group of 14 businesses and advisers whose brief is to work with the Partnership Board to ensure that projects are managed commercially and that local businesses have every opportunity to benefit from this very significant stimulus. As chair of the Forum Jack is ex-officio a member of the Borderlands Partnership Board and so participates in the strategic considerations about how the £450 million budget is deployed. The other Partnership Board members are the Leaders of the five participating councils supported by their most senior advisers.
