Taylor Stopforth moves into business coaching and mentoring

by Jack Stopforth

Since I established TSCS seven years ago our focus has been on providing large corporate clients and public agencies with strategic advice on new business development, stakeholder relations and international trade. It’s been a blast and we’ve worked for clients in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, the USA, Europe and the U.K. Sadly, the pandemic has had a huge impact on the work, with international travel virtually impossible and many clients putting their international projects on ice until the future is clearer. Unsurprisingly the stresses caused by the pandemic have been reflected in business confidence and have impacted directly on our health and well-being.

I have been contacted by several former employees and many friends who have hit the proverbial “brick wall” that everyone in business encounters now and then. Sometimes they’ve needed help with transactional issues - raising venture capital, adapting a business plan, evolving a different comms approach etc. But in other cases the need has been more pastoral as many entrepreneurs have felt close to burn-out. Our own business is not insulated from these pressures and like so many others, the impact of COVID-19 on my family and friends has been, frankly, horrible.

Consequently I have taken the decision to move us into the executive coaching space. I and my senior associates have enjoyed long and interesting careers and there aren’t many business scenarios we haven’t encountered. Just as importantly we are seasoned general managers and have dealt with staffing issues and helped clients rethink their priorities and regain perspective in often troubled business environments.

That hard-won experience is supplemented by ongoing training in coaching and mentoring so that we combine current best practice with real-world scar tissue. The aim is a customised, confidential and supportive service with no off-the-shelf, prepackaged solutions but rather a personalised route map to help entrepreneurs be the best versions of themselves.

The first step is a confidential, no-cost and no-obligation conversation and I look forward to hearing from you.
